Claire’s Yarn Adventures

This webpage is for showcasing some (some are not worth showing, because I mess up haha) of my favorite knitting projects! While my documentation and detailed posts began around 2018/2019, my passion for knitting has a deeper history.

During my high school days, a friend’s mother introduced me to the world of knitting. Beginning with humble dishcloths and scarves, I’ve ventured into intricate and delightful knitting patterns, embracing the challenge and joy they bring.

Zelda Baby Blanket

Completed: November 16, 2023

Description: A double-knitted Zelda, baby, blanket for my friends’ baby. They’re huge Zelda fans.

Pattern: I design the pattern, where I mashed up Zelda Breath of the Wild with Zelda Ocarina of Time. I used parts from another pattern to create the border and the eye of truth – NerdyCraftPotato’s hero song scarf.

Yarn: Adore from Universal Yarn.

Carrot, Baby Hat

Completed: January 28, 2023

Description: A carrot baby hat with matching mittens, because a friend’s baby was going to be born the year of the rabbit. However, the baby came early and became a tiger baby (two days before the Lunar New Year). Tigers eat carrots though…

Pattern: Classic baby, berry hat by Michele Sabatier.

Yarn: Unknown, random yarn I found in my stash.

Frost Hat and Cowl

Completed: January 25, 2022

Description: A cowl and hat with a fun pom pom (basically trying to get rid of extra yarn). I’ve had the woolstock frost bundle for so long and finally knitted something with it.

Pattern: Chilton Cowl, hat inspired by the cowl that I knit without a set pattern.

Yarn: Blue Sky Fibers Woolstock Bundle Frost and Cascade Yarn Wool.

Purple Vest

Completed: July 7, 2021

Description: A purple vest, because I struggled to figure out what to do with the ultra pima yarn that I bought from a store that was purging stock. There wasn’t much of it, so vest it was!

Pattern: Salient Vest by Tabetha Hedrick.

Yarn: Ultra Pima from Cascade Yarns.

White, Slouchy Hat

Completed: March 12, 2021

Description: A fun, more lacy, slouchy hat. I had only one skein because it was part of a yarn store purge.

Pattern: Coeurs et Fleurs.

Yarn: Blue Sky 100% Cotton.

Grey, Gradient Shawl

Completed: March 7, 2021

Description: I knitted this shawl to use up the remaining Dandelion Munchies Scheepjes Whirl Yarn.

Pattern: Country Song Shawl Pattern.

Yarn: Dandelion Munchies Scheepjes Whirl Yarn.

Cobblestone Sweater

Completed: February 2, 2021

Description: A sweater for my hubby. 🙂 Worst part was that I only had to bind off, sew, and weave in ends for days…

Pattern: Cobblestone Sweater by Jared Flood.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns ecological wool.

Stormy Sky Shawl

Completed: November, 2020

Description: I knitted this shawl for my friend, who created these photos for me.

Pattern: Stormy Sky Shawl by Life is Cozy.

Yarn: Dandelion Munchies Scheepjes Whirl Yarn.

Petals and Plumes Toddler Hat

Completed: October 4, 2020

Description: I knitted this hat intended for a baby, but it morphed into a toddler sized hat. Good thing babies grow fast!

Pattern: Petals and Plumes by Celia’s Basket, but I added a pom pom on top.

Yarn: Dandelion Munchies Scheepjes Whirl Yarn.

Blanket for Grandpa

Completed: October 4, 2020

Description: I crocheted this blanket for my grandpa, who was getting cold at night.

Pattern: Basic afghan pattern that I crocheted.

Yarn: Uptown Worsted (I think) from Universal Yarn.

Elisa Shawl

Completed: May 31, 2020

Description: I picked out a random shawl pattern to use up some yarn I had.

Pattern: Elisa Shawl by Tori Gurbisz.

Yarn: Merino Wool Superwash from Cascade Yarns.

UMich Potholders

Completed: April 28, 2020

Description: I knitted these potholders for a friend’s birthday, who is a huge University of Michigan football fan (and alumni).

Pattern: I copied what the logo looked like and double-knitted.

Yarn: Hollywood Yarn (discontinued) from Cascade Yarns (I think).

Random Baby Hat and Mitts

Completed: June 2, 2019

Description: I knitted a baby hat and matching mittens for fun. No set pattern

Pattern: See comment above.

Yarn: Cherub from Cascade Yarns.

Random Baby Hat

Completed: June 2, 2019

Description: An intarsia knit in the round, because I hated myself and wanted to try how to intarsia knit…

Pattern: I wanted to knit a simple hat for my cousin.

Yarn: Merino wool blend from Cascade Yarns.

All the Berry Hats

Completed: Dozens starting in 2016.

Description: I knit many berry hats for babies, because they’re quick to make and super cute!

Pattern: Baby berry hat by Michele Sabatier.

Yarn: Whatever yarn I can find.
